    But being radio-friendly isn't necessarily a bad thing as long the band is up-front about it and doesn't try and act like they're so hardcore. Radio-friendly bands tend to have more hooks, which is always a good thing. And then there are bands like The Vaselines who have catchier songs than pretty much anyone else but aren't famous at all (other than being known as Kurt Cobain's favorite band.)
