I figured out how to work iScrobbler on iTunes 7.2+ !!!

  • Finally! I had stuck with 7.1 for the longest time because of this, then just recently I decided to give up on last.fm all together (I needed an update for my ipod and couldn't get the update to work correctly with old iTunes). This is great, though I feel like I should have thought to try it myself.

  • Amazing.

I just upgraded to itunes 7.3 since my sister got the new shuffle. Lo and behold, iscrobbler was gone and I was unable to get it back on itunes.

    A big thanks dude!

Another happy customer :-) iTunes 8.0.0.35

    Thanks a lot.

  • did not work for me: iTunes 8.0.2.20
When I renamed the file, I had a crash in itunes; naming it back got me back up and running.. I just uninstalled both in the end...

Any new solutions for ipod scrobbling? :)

  • Thanks a lot! :)

    god bless you!!!

  • Not working for me anymore. :( Like jackandjohn, I'm using iTunes 8.0.2.20 now and Vista (prior to this I was using XP). Not sure if the version upgrade caused it to stop working or Vista....

  • @citizenkeith

i'd guess it's a vista issue? i just installed iScrobbler 1.1.0 and jscrob2.1.9 using the steps described in the first post, and it works for me. i'm running XP pro and itunes 8.0.2.20.

Hmmm... you're probably right. I just tried it again, since I have done a fresh Vista install on this laptop and wanted to make sure it wasn't user error. iTunes won't even start.

  • Correction: iTunes IS starting, but not appearing on my screen. It's running in Task Manager though.

It doesn't work with Windows 7 either. You just get an error message when trying to start iTunes, which goes away if you delete the plugin.

  • oh noes... so this little trick isn't working again?

When I have some free time, I'll poke around in windows again and see what I get

    works fine for me but..

It works fine for me but all i did was....

    1. I installed jscrob2
    2. Opened itunes -> go to the view menu -> Visualizer -> Click "jscrob2"
    3. Go back to view menu again -> Visualizer -> Click "Options..."
    4. I put in my last.fm Username and Password (Don't touch anything else)-> click OK
    5. Played music and went and checked my last.fm profile and I found my songs were updating.

    Max
