iPod not being detected

None of the newer versions are working for me; the client will detect my ipod, but at the same time, it will insist that there is nothing new to scrobble.

As of last night, I updated my software, but still no go.

    Last.fm 1.5.1.29527
    Itunes Plugin 3.0.1.0
    Edit: Vista 64

Last night, when I tried to manually update through the Last.fm client, it spewed out line after line of errors. If anyone needs them, I'll gladly paste.

  • blahh aint working for me either

both my itunes and last.fm are up to date

  • Scrobbling with the menu Diagnostics from the Last.fm client works for me.

    Weekly Top 10 albums:
  • Scrobbling with the Diagnostic function worked for me too.
    1) Ipod Video 30G (5.Gen) Firmware: 1.3
    2) Last FM Client: 1.5.1.30182
    3) Itunes 7.6.2.9
    4) Windows XP Pro SP3
    5) iTunes plugin 3.0.1.0

But... scrobbling with the new Client is much more Ressource intensive than ever. The CPU workload is nearly 100% during the "Scrobbling process".
I cannot say that the new system is more efficient than the old.
At least the Ipod Scrobbling is working again.

scrobblin with the diagnostic function worked for mee too, but i hope there will be an automatic function in the next version, because it is very annoying to scrobble the ipod every time manually. By the way i have my iPod syncy automatically with itunes and gets the error "COM error: COM couldn't get file path for ... "

  • im posting the same thing i posted on the other thread

i got it to scrobble from my 30gb 5th generation ipod, but only the tracks that have been played since the installation.. i think it started working when i mixed the iscrobbler 1.1.0 plugin for itunes with the beta last.fm to force the manually updated ipod to scrobble.
but also, i'm new to the last.fm software cause i never got around to download it. is it supossed to do this, or is it supossed to upload the list of all the songs that have been played on the ipod, with their number of plays?

  • well.. i installed the beta version...

i went to diagnostics and automatically scrobbed my ipod which detected my plays for today...

but the plays for today are not being displayed on my profile..... how do i extract what is scrobbled from my ipod into my profile?

Edit: Works fine now.. my mistake...

  • Why songs that aren´t anymore in my hard drive (but yes in my ipod 80gb and my iTunes) aren´t scrobbed? Anyone else?

Beta worked fine and it even scrobbled more than 150 tracks when I expected it to only scrobble a few.

    Thanks!

Yes! I noticed the same thing last weekend.

  • It seems that Last.fm isn't made for iPod =( I'm always having this kind of problems. A lot of missing tracks... that's sad.

  • I have just installed the last version (the old 1.4.2 works so well, I didn't hasten to change :p) and it works only with diagnostics.

    Known iPods displays "diagnostic/UNKNOWN".

    iPod nano, 2nd generation, 1.1.3
    iTunes 7.6.2.9
    Windows XP service pack 2
    iTunes plugin version 1.5.0.24910

im having this same problem. i dont know how to fix it

edit: nevermind. it scrobbled.. but if there was multiple plays of one song it just listed them all in a row. and put the same time on all of the repeats.. is that going to be a problem with scrobbling? will it eventually put the right times in?

First, i'm french so i'm not fluent in english but i try to do my best =)

    1) 30GB, fifth generation
    2) Windows XP
    3) last version of lastfm

Well, my Ipod was detected. Everything was OK. But one day, it disappeared, it was erased of the list called "Ipods Connus" in french, so in english it might be "Detected Ipods".... Anyway, lastfm doesn't scrobble my ipod listenings anymore. That sucks...
    Thanks for your help

    Convinience is king

I used to update my iPod daily, with LastFM extensions to MySpace. But ever since the iPod scrobbling chrashed I have not scrobbled to LastFM for weeks, or used it's service.

I am sorry LastFM. But without the iPod scrobbeling it just isn't that attractive to me any more.

Weather iTunes is sabotating this on purpuse or not, it's seriously harms it's product.

Please tell me that You can fix it and when 8-] ?

    Independent greetings

will it work for you too??

I had the same problem with no ipod scrobbling. This is what I came up with until the guys solve it. Sorry if it's been posted before, such a long thread!

First, make sure you selected yor ipod via Options->ipod in last.fm app.

    1. Sync your ipod with iTunes. Once it's done,
    2. Open the last.fm app.
    3. Go to Help -> Diagnostics.
    4. Go to the "ipod scrobbling" tab.
    5. Press "scrobble ipod"

If it worked, you'll see your songs being cached in the log window and a pop up will ask for confirmation. Press "scrobble" and you're done, your ipod has been scrobbled.

Again, cross your fingers, I don't know why it works either.

    I'm using:
    1) 80Gb iPod with video (5G)
    2) WinXP
    3) iTunes 7.6.2.9
    4) last.fm plugin 3.0.1.0

I'm stay away from any further updates...the old version works just fine for me and I'm sticking with it until this whole thing is sorted out.
