[Solution Here] Cannot Connect to Server Error - No Scrobbling

Since the update I've been getting "Cannot Connect to Server" errors.. I've upgraded, changed my password, reinstalled, etc. Never had this problem before.

Anybody else having this problem? =)

    Thanks.

    having same problem

Tried everything! I've deleted, reinstalled, etc, and still nothing. Sent a ticket, haven't gotten an answer yet though.

  • Same problem.

  • Same here, it's been 3 days now and it's still not working. I've done the walkthrough, I've restarted my PC, I've restarted the client, and I've checked my preferences and options. :/

I have similar problem. 1st of all: my tracks couldn't be scrobbled because of this error:

''Last.fm was unable to connect to the plugin for your media player. Details: Could not start listening on socket. Socket error: 10013''

then I uninstalled it and installed last.fm again. And now I'm trying to log-in but it says:

''Couldn't connect to the internet to verify your user details. If you use a proxy to connect to the internet, please click the button bellow to enter your proxy details''

^I do not use proxy to connect so that's not it.

I use Windows Media Player 10 and everything worked since few hours ago. Now it just keeps showing that 10013 error and now I can't even log-in.

:( I'm gonna restart my PC now to see if that maybe helps.

I have the same problem as well. I've tried everything. :/ I've had this problem for a week now. The songs I listen to are scrobbled by the last.fm app, but for some reason they never appear on my profile. When I try to do Tools > Get Plugin it says "Last.fm couldn't connect to the Internet to download plugin information. Error: Info download failed: No server set to connect to".

I use the latest version of iTunes (7.4.2.4) on both my laptop and desktop computer. The last.fm app on my laptop does work.

Seems like lots of people are having the same problem, but nobody has a decent fix for it, unfortunately. There's at least 5 other threads discussing this issue. I'm using Winamp. It just suddenly stopped working. I have no clue what the problem could be.

I have almost the same problem. It says:

''Last.fm was unable to connect to the plugin for your media player. Details: Could not start listening on socket. Socket error: 10022''

I've restart my PC also re-installed it but nothing happened and I'm not using proxy either.

    P.S I'm using iTunes

When I try to check for updates within the last.fm client (with the firewall off even) I get this message in an error box:

First line : Last.fm couldn't connect to the Internet to check for updates.

Second line: Error: Info download failed: No server set to connect to

    Help me!

Ok, we really, really can't reproduce this.

I don't suppose any of you know how to use a packet sniffer do you? We need to determine if this is a server side or client side problem.

    Hello all,

Thanks to prom we traced this down to the wrong password hash being sent from the client - please go to the options dialog in the client and RE-ENTER your username and password, then save.

If that works, post here saying so.

Also, I'd like to know if you used the Last.fm fingerprinter recently. We suspect that it may be a bug in that corrupting the hashes.

    Thanks,

Ok, next step (and the one that worked for prom), is to change your password on the site, AND in the client (to the same thing, obviously).

phew, I thought it was my PC.

I'm not using fingerprinting, but I've been experiencing problems lately too - all of the above.

Hi, this problem is quite serious. Really sorry! Especially that we didn't notice till now.

Can someone send me their logs? Press ALT-SHIFT-F to have the folder open and then attach that to max@last.fm. Thanks!

We don't check the forums properly due to insufficient support staff. It's prolly better to report problems to the client team direct, either email client@last.fm or pm us (me, sharevari or jonocole). And yeah this sucks and we suck because of it.

babs, it may be the only solution as it seems like the hash has become invalid.
