    add me to the crowd:

Your plugin reported a submission error: Spam protection triggered this submission dated earlier than previous submission (this:2005-05-15 21:48:36, last: 2005-05-15 21:48:51)

I'm getting these a couple times per day for no discernable reason, and I never used to. (15 second space for me as well, for what's it's worth.)

Hm, I get those messages about once every 2-3 hours, I'd say. It's almost always on the top of my AS page, but obviously I'm not looking at it all the time. I'm guessing that now that most of my songs are cached that this is the problem? I do'ntknow though, obviously!

Does it really mean that these songs won't be sent to AS? That's odd... and mildly infuriating! Heehee!

mine is every three hrs, tho the other day i had none what so ever, which is unheard of ..

when i get one of these its seems i also get a handshake error and whatever song i am listening to doesn't get submitted..

Hmmm, yeah, I've noticed that handshake error too!!!

I've only noticed 1 error spam thinger today, but audioscrobbler and I had a fight, and we're taking a break right now, so that could be why :(

  • I've been getting them more frequently as well, and with that 15 second space in the reported times.

it would seem this is related to the plugin not being able to submit data to the server (for one reason or another) and start queuing song info
as soon as it can send the queue, the first track will occasionally get submitted after the second track in the queue and voila! you have a submission error
so I'd say at least part of the problem is related to how the plugins queue the info

    or somesuch

I wonder if it's only in my case but the "recent tracks" never show the right time. For example a song that lasts 3 minutes is shown as 5 minutes until a new one starts.
    Maybe this is somehow related.

seems im not the only one, but just incase you want to know, Im using the latest Winamp plugin set at default things (i assume that means 15 secs between).

It might go away soon... hope it will, i only just got the whole thing working.

[Cough] [Cough] (Okay so I don't have anything witty to put here. Sue me)
  • The reason is...

I'm getting this now, and I know why. At work I use Windbloze XP with winamp and the scrobbler plugin... it submits in GMT time (5:59 PM EDT, scrobbler says 21:59), but now i'm home and my amaroK is submitting with localtime (21:38).

So you guys have to figure out one way to calculate timezones, not multiples.

The plugins should submit in UTC. If they're not, there's something wrong with your plugin or your computer's time zone setup.

If I had to guess, I'd say that your time zone is set to UTC on your linux box and so what Amarok thinks is UTC is actually EDT.
