Yes, this is the main problem if you ask me. Users shouldn't have to remove artists they actually like just because they have a crappy photo. The library is something one should be "proud" of, but it's hard when the photos aren't good enough to represent the artists that you love.

Calexico, a group i like rather a lot actually, has 1 worthy photo -- b & w, high contrast, very grainy. All their other pics are moron snapshots boiled in the colors of canned fruit.

This is the kind of annoying nonsense that shouldn't be our problem. We shouldn't have to think about this crap.

This is a very good idea but the lack of responce from last fm staff and it refusel to listen to what its users want just goes to confirm that
Last FM & CBS dont give a shit about what the users want, they just want data that they can sell to 3rd parties

If last.fm gave users the choice to choose pictures it would limit the ability for record labels and artists to choose them for you...

Been a long time since this thread was opened, and the problem still hasn't been solved. That's a pity, because this would be a great feature. Some artist photos are just too crappy too look at.

My idea is simpler.

Enable flags for artist pages so people could mark them as 'shared' or not and specify particular acts by country and one of page's tags. Something like "suggest a correction" sheet.

Then allow people to choose which one of them they are listening to. Initially it may be only picture in library, further more elements of artist page.

Unless this CANNOT or WILL NOT be done, I dunno why this hasn't been done yet. There would be a ridiculous amount of happy campers (including me) if this were put through. And I'd totally upgrade my account just for this feature...
