Group radio ends up playing the same dozen songs over and over

I'm on a group with 20+ members with very diverse tastes. Recently quite a few people have been listening to that group's radio station and scrobbling at the same time.

This seems to have homogenised everyone's libraries and resulted in the radio station playing the same dozen or so songs (some by very obscure artists with just over 100 scrobbles) over and over again.

I wonder if the selection algorithm is giving two much weight to artists with only one or two plays or one or two songs in someone's library, which means the songs that the group radio plays is strongly biased towards the songs it's played before.

If I ever hear Cornershop's "Brimful of Asha" again, I'll scream!!

I'm listening to the same station again, and it's playing completely different songs now. May be linked to my aggressive use of the "Ban" button last night on those songs that kept coming up over and over again. No more Brimful of Asha or Akira the Don or that one-man band consisting of a bloke playing a banjo with a drum on his back who's got less than 1000 scrobbles.
