Can't add artists to library

  • Can't add artists to library

I just joined Last.fm, and after I created my initial profile I have been unable to add other artists to my library. When I click "Add to Library" a box pops up that says "Loading" and shows a turning wheel, but the wheel just keeps turning and nothing happens. Please help!

  • what browser are you using?

If firefox, make sure that addons like adblock plus, etc are not interfering with the process, or any popup blockers, etc.

I have the same issue. I have allowed pop-ups from Lastfm & I do not have adblock plus but I still can't add artists to my library. Did you find a solution?

Edit: It was my firewall after all, I didn't realise that it blocked pop-ups too, sorry.

    Can't Add Artists to Library

I'm new to last.fm also and am unable to add artists to my library. A window pops up and it says it's loading, but nothing happens. I have turned off pop-up blocker, turned off my firewall, and it still doesn't work. I don't have firefox.

  • I have the same problem, only that it once used to work perfectly....

I don’t know what the key to success is, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone
  • These popups depend on javascript as well, so make sure you have nothing interferring with javascript.

I didnt include some artists in initial profile and now I want to add to my library.

I'm only able to add artists from the suggestion section of last.fm, how to do it 'manually', like on initial setup? (and how to remove also?).

You can't add artists by typing their names into a text box any more, but if you visit their artist page on Last.fm (you should be able to find this easily by typing their name into the search bar at the top of the page, or just by going to www.last.fm/music/bandname - replacing 'bandname' with the name of the artist) there is an 'add to library' button. To remove artists, go and find them in your library and hover over their display picture - an 'x' will appear in the top-right corner, you can remove them from your library by clicking that button.

  • Is there a reason that we can't keep on adding artists manually after the initial account creation? Seems like this would be a much easier way to modify your account...

  • You can add an entire artist to your library by going to their artist page and clicking on "add to library"

Also tagging songs, artists or albums, adds them to your library as well.

Which is rather unfortunate when you tag a song with 'worst song ever' like I did for John Legend's cruel & unusual punishment Ordinary People. :-/

That will teach you. :-) Negative tags, even ones meants as "informational", really don't help anyone. After all that, though you could still ban the song from your radio if it plays.

There is still the problem that the "Add to Library" button isn't available on the artist or album pages anymore as soon as one track of the artist/album is scrobbled!

  • This is true. This is where I might recommend that a person tag the artist to do an "add" of the artists catalog, though I suppose I have no proof that it does this.

it does, but it's not the same thing. you will hear new music coming from that artist (tracks you didn't specifically tag) but only while you're listening to that tag you've applied to the artist. i'm not sure the same will happen if you simply listen to your library.

i wish they would fix this soon (what akrde said). maybe have it so that when you listen to any similar artists radio, the principal artist's catalog will be added to your library by default (or potion), even if you may already have some of their music in your library.

U.G.L.Y. - changing the face of music, one artist at a time.
there are some things pngs can't fix. for everything else, there's pngoptimizer.
