Last.fm changes the case of tags (incorrectly)

  • Thank you so much. I totally appreciate your hard work :D

  • Isis should be ISIS but not in all cases, it looks better in upper case and the band uses it. Check the official website.

Aw, you're all welcome, except for this guy:

No. Firstly, Musicbrainz disagrees, and secondly, the post-metal band is not the only one with that name. And since this is a band that's actually in my charts, I won't do just anything. ;)
All are (or almost) standard capitalizations for song titles in english. Thanks!
Depends on who you ask. There's nothing wrong with capitalizing all words (even though it's not the most common way of writing it and it looks bad) so changing that, to me, feels sort of pointless. It also takes more time for me to do.

But, I fixed the other stuff you posted. :) Better than nothing?

Thanks! But it really does look ugly when all letters are capitalized, that's why I want these to be changed to the way they should be.

Chokesleeper should be "Chokesleeper". Here is their OHP, and here are "Chokesleeper" listings on Amazon, displaying their most recent releases. A fix would be nice.

    ---

THE BLUE HEARTS should be "THE BLUE HEARTS". They have used caps on all their albums, in all promotional texts, everything. Look for example at THE BLUE HEARTS AT WARNER MUSIC and at tri-m. Please fix :)

    ---

DOES should be "DOES". They also always use caps. Just look at their biography on their OHP and at Sony Music's DOES profile.

    ---

    That would be all. Thanks!

The capitalization of Tij by Battles is unnecessary.

i want to ask something, it is about the tags and i didnt want to open a new thread.

some turkish groups like Şebnem Ferah and Yavuz Çetin can be tagged as "Sebnem Ferah" and "Yavuz Cetin" so scrobble numbers of this groups are lower than expected. when i listen beatles it automatically scrobble it as "the beatles", so cant you direct yavuz cetin to yavuz çetin and sebnem ferah to şebnem ferah, it annoys me a lot :)

and also look at şebnem Ferah, Şebnem Ferah, Sebnem Ferah, Yavuz çetin, Yavuz Cetin, Yavuz Çetin and other probabilities (:

Salag: yeah, it's a known problem, and they're working on fixing it. Beatles become The Beatles because they used to have a system that merged artists that were the same, but they removed it because some artists that weren't the same were merged too. But, they're doing something now called Fingerprinting that will hopefully solve this in the future.

I don't know about this one. I can find several (reliable) sites where it's simply "The Blue Hearts".

    Did everything else though.

    Tusen takk!

As for The Blue Hearts, they really always used caps. I own all of their albums :). You could check the Japanese Wikipedia article on THE BLUE HEARTS, for example. Caps all over the place. I've searched around a little on the net after hearing that you found sources without caps, and they all seem to be on English language sites. It's very common to drop the caps when writing English. I can see that they have done this on Musicbrainz, and that is quite simply human error.

You can also try to run a search on "the blue hearts" on Google, searching only through Japanese websites. (here, I did it). You'll see that there's not one hit without caps.

I must sound obsessive, but I really love it when everything looks juuust right :P But of course, it's not like I want to, or am trying to force anyone :P
    That's all.
