i'm just worried because on top of my library disappearing, my count is gone. it currently reads "no plays since 29 april 2005"

3 1/2 years and 85000+ plays gone in the blink of an eye.

How am i supposed to show people i am superior to them because my taste in music is better than theirs?

When you post in a thread, it's a good idea to read through the last few pages to see whether people have had something current to say about the topic, instead of just asking a question that could possibly have already been answered. (Yes, your library is okay, don't panic first thing.)

Nothing has been lost, we're re-sharding our database which has affected a quarter of our userbase. It may take up to 8 hours for your library information to re-appear on your profile.

In the meantime, please ensure you are using a client which will cache your scrobbles, e.g. the Last.fm client (www.last.fm/download).

Note: Spotify will cache your scrobbles, however quitting the app (Mac/PC client, or mobile) will delete the cache. Please make sure you keep the app open so you don't lose anything.

This was completely an unexpected side effect of increasing the capacity of our scrobble database. Please be assured that no data has been lost!
