Descripción

Blow Up is back in Soho for Week 5 of its Friday residency at the legendary St Moritz Club, and BIG BOSS MAN will be performing live.

The basement club is one of the last 'original' venues in the West End, virtually unchanged since the 60s. Blow Up will toasting in 2015 at the venue as well as kicking off it's Friday night residency here in January through to February. We will also be announcing new dates for Blow Up in Peckham for 2015 too – so stay tuned.

Expect to hear classic tracks from both Blow Up's past and present: from Brit Pop era favourites (the scene which the club helped kick-start way back in 1993 in Camden Town) to the current new Pop & indie stylists putting the art back into pop colliding with 60's Soul, Beat, Garage, Funk, Ska, Swinging Soundtracks, Hammond Heavy Jazz, Easy Listening & Ye-Ye! Brit Pop, Glam & Post Punk / New Wave will all be present and correct.

BIG BOSS MAN
Big Boss Man return to Blow Up following the release of their fourth album The Last Man On Earth this September on Blow Up Records.

A hip hybrid of ’60s and ’70s drenched R&B, Funk, Latin, Jazz, Soul and Psych taking us on new sonic explorations. It's certainly not a straight Soul Jazz album - ‘Shot Down’ experiments with North West Garage/Frat, ‘Project No 6’ has the Sci-Fi squelch of a Radiophonic Workshop piece and hugely cinematic ‘Painted Rainbow’ features a bombastic femme vocals akin to The Rotary Connection.

Lead single ‘Aardvark' a jazz dance floor filler, received strong radio support from BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2, including multiple spins by Craig Charles on his Funk & Soul Show, with additional plays from Gideon Coe, Tom Ravenscroft, Cerys Matthews, Chris Hawkins and Huey Morgan at the stations.
