What better place to spend a Sunday afternoon than in the warm comfort of The Lexington, with its laidback vibes and 4 very special guests every second Sunday of the month, including residents The Hall of Mirrors who are currently hard at work on their first album with the likes of Paul O’Duffy (John Barry collaborator/ Amy Winehouse Back to Black co-writer).

Every month catch a mixture of fine-tuned pieces and songs so close to the edit they may just have been written that morning. Having recently been signed to major management these are exciting times to catch The Hall of Mirrors and the opportunity to see them at such an intimate venue may not last forever…

Special guests include:
The Keys
Contemporary psych-rockers The Keys with their signature brand of cosmic flavour. The band have been capturing the imagination of industry and public alike, garnering praise and support from Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Clash magazine, BBC 6 Music, Radio 2, Shindig!, Mark Lamarr and BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton and Bethan Elfyn amongst others.
Having risen from the ashes of the much lauded Murry The Hump – once labelled by Alex James of Blur as ‘the best new band in Britain’, counting Damien Hirst and the late Joe Strummer as fans and notching up several John Peel sessions – The Keys are a band whose musical pedigree cannot be argued with.

By The Sea

Andrew Weatherall and BBC Radio 6 favourites By The Sea were previously produced by Coral guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones and currently work on new material with Cian Ciaran of the Super Furry Animals. Rough Trade proclaimed them a band making ‘classic pop’, saying that within the first chorus of their Waltz Away track you can ‘almost hear the sun burst through the clouds bathing all in it’s pristine glow- just a perfect pop moment’.

Le Volume Courbe

Le Volume Courbe have previously recorded with contributions from Kevin Shields and Colm Ó Cíosóig of My Bloody Valentine and Hope Sandoval and David Roback of Mazzy Star among others. They also toured Europe and the US with My Bloody Valentine in 2008. Subculture magazine called their first album ‘a sweetly sinister river of lights and shadows, whispers and screams… eclectic, experimental and strangely compelling, it’s been described as “impossible to describe”, which is a very good thing, unless you’re the guy writing this’

As if the music alone was not enough, anyone with an advance ticket can get any of the Lexington’s delicious Roast Dinners discounted between noon and 6pm. See website for details.

Wasting Sundays away just waiting for Monday is boring, dull and done so come join us for an afternoon and evening of fun!
