Sat 30 Jun – Bob Dylan & his band

Amazing. Halfway through The Times They Are A-Changin' (the seocnd song of the evening) his voice found it's groove and evened out. I loved seeing him live because to actually experience a master at work is completely different from experiencing it through filters such as CDs, DVDs, bootlegs, etc.--when he's right there in front of you, there are no filters, just the music and that is incredible. The mood of the night appeared very mellow and chill.

Since he never plays a song the same way twice, it took some people a moment to recognize which songs he was playing. For instance, Tangled Up in Blue received no recognition from a majority of the 12,000+ concert-goers until Dylan sang "Tangled up in blue." He seemed to be performing most of the songs with a bluegrass upbeat twang to them.

The encore was the best part. Two songs: Thunder on the Mountain and All Along the Watchtower--short in ways of an encore, but not lacking in quality or spirit. The crowd went wild as soon as Dylan and his bang emerged on stage again, and the energy just kept building and eventually coming to a head with All Along the Watchtower. One of the best concerts I have ever been to.

Bethel Woods is an incredible venue, and the only nightmarish thing about it would be leaving. I live 45 minutes away from Bethel, and it took me 3 hours to get home because of lack of competency in the Bethel Woods staff in developing an exit strategy for their guests.
