Pioneers of Belgian electronic music, Front 242, come to KOKO for an exclusive 30th anniversary show. Formed in 1981 the band took inspiration from the early industrial music scene burgeoning in Britain, and bands such as Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire. The band grew in popularity throughout the 80s, with the video for their hit ‘Headhunter’ being directed by Anton Corbijn. The 90s saw the band perform on the main stage at Lollapalooza.

The band are still as relevant today as they ever have been, when the band released their free download, ‘First Moment’, in 2008 20,000 people downloaded it within the first few hours of it being online.

Tickets for this event are available from the venue box office, and can be purchased at face value if payment is made in cash.

hilarious indeed. 'imperial austrian industrial' and vowing to headline the venue. what a joke! and totally unfitting to front242. what were the promoters thinking?

Global Shitizen was as awful as before KMFDM... Empirion - very good, Nachtmahr - fucking hilarious, I enjoyed every minute of it. Would be better as VNV or Hocico's support rather than F242, but I still liked it.

Empirion were fantastic, so glad they're back. Nachtmahr however were absolutely terrible. Front 242 were amazing, but wish they'd played for longer. Didn't even bother to watch Global Citizen, deliberately missed them. They should have got rid of Nachtmahr and Global Citizen and either replaced them with someone better and more 242-associated (maybe a vintage 80s EBM act?) or just had only Empirion and Front 242. For a "30th Anniversary" gig, 242 were on stage for far too short a length of time - time that Nachtmahr's godawful entire set could have been better made use of with more of 242.
