    God show all in all, although doesn't beat their first London gig a few years ago. I only went based on the recommendations of an American guy in the crowd and what little I'd heard on their myspace. Experiencing it live was something indescribable. This show was good, but couldn't compare to that.

    Great gig, apart from the two twats at the front all the way to the right that kept flailing their arms and hitting their heads against walls when Wolves were playing. Easily the best gig I've been to; the sound was perfect and the bands complemented one-another really well. As for the comment about the chequered shirts, I don't think that really matters. Let people wear what they want to wear, we're all there for the same reason (the music).

    Hahaha, I can't believe how far you've missed by point by. The ignorance displayed is pretty astounding too. Very little promotion? Haha, no, you're just not looking in the right places, and that's fine by me. I begrudge people that listen to this band for the fact that they are "different" and on Southern Lord. Most will deny that, but it's hardly far from the truth. Wolves in the Throne Room's sound is nothing new, it's simply atmospheric Black Metal with small passages of ambience. They do it well, so naturally get a fan base The only way they differ is because they are (to put it incredibly simply) hippies. I don't care how much exposure WITTR get, I'll still like some of their music. But where they to have a different theme and label, I'd put money on the table that the crowd would be completely different. Aaah, don't you just love assumptions? "elitist conception of musical genres" You say that like it's a bad thing?

    So you begrudge someone for liking a band that stylistically differs from a lot of the run-of-the-mill buzzsaw black metal put out by labels with a very narrow focus and very little promotion? Shouldn't you be happy that WITTR are getting exposure, that other bands could possibly use it as a way to get noticed? No, you'd rather stick to your insular world view and elitist conception of musical genres and their appropriate audience. Hey, your choice.

    Wodensthrone were great. Have to say the crowd nearly ruined WITTR for me, the majority were just stood there completely motionless, resulting in no atmosphere at all. I might as well have stayed at home and listened to the CDs.

    Appearance doesn't matter really, but it's hard not to notice. It's just so horrifically pathetic how people lap up everything Southern Lord put out. Where were all these people a year or two ago? How come they seem to come to WITTR shows but not other Black Metal shows in London? Is it a band to name drop into conversations and then pretend to like BM?

    They are on Southern Lord, what do you expect? To be fair appearance shouldn't matter if they are into the music then good for them. It was a proper amazing one of the best gigs I've been to this year.
