Leon Michener - piano
Aleks Kolkowski - stroh violin, musical saw
Inspired by Xenakis’ visuals-to-music software, Leon Michener performs his piano works with projected visuals triggered directly from the piano keys, in a real-time transcription of the music and also a solo improvisation.
Rare Xenakis films will be screened, and Aleks Kolkowski creates a new
performance from drawings contributed by audiences, translated into music using graphics-to-sound software and played back through antique gramophone horns, with improvised accompaniment on Stroh violin and musical saw.
