- The Parlotones kicked of their professional career in 2003 rising to the forefront of South African music by 2006 when they signed a European license deal on the back of their debut single beautiful being used in a Fuji film commercial.
- Since then The Parlotones have become the biggest selling band in South Africa and have delivered over 200 shows in 2008 across SA, UK and Europe. Key performances include Live Earth, Coke Fest and V Fest.
Key acknowledgements include:
- South African Music Awards 2006 - Best Rock Album
- You Awards 2007 - Best Band
- FHM Readers Choice 2007
- MK Awards 2007 - Best Video
- Resfest 2007 Best Video nomination
- People’s Choice Awards 2008 - Best Music Act
- Loerie Kraft Award 2008 (first time a music video has won at the Loeries)
- MTV Africa 2008 - Best Group nomination
- MTV Africa 2008 - Best Alternative nomination
- MK Awards 2009 - Best Video
- MK Awards 2009 - Best Animation
- MK Awards 2009 - Best Serenade
The Parlotones latest album is already platinum in South Africa and is due for release in UK/Europe and USA in 2009.
In 2008:
- Sold over 60 000 units of their «A World Next Door To Yours» album
- Performed 280 Shows in South Africa, UK and Europe
the New Zealand band, the Outsiders will be the curtan raiser.
